Bayesian inference is about finding the most likely explanation in a sea of correlations. In the BAIQO project — which focuses on Bayesian-network analysis and inference via quantum-enhanced optimisation — we deal with events that may be related (for example: it’s raining, so the grass is wet) or unrelated (it’s raining and my coffee cup is empty). Often we lack clear models, so we build correlations and then infer the most probable explanation (MPE).
